Sanjiv Lamba is BOC India New Chairman

Linde AG Germany has appointed Mr. Sanjiv Lamba as new chairman of BOC India Ltd, a subsidiary company of Linde Group. Mr. Lamba is already the member of Linde AG executive board & has been with The Linde Group since 1989, will replace Chairman S. M. Datta, who is retiring.

Along with this announcement, company reported a more than two-fold jump in net profit of Rs. 50.6 crore (202,613 USD). Figures came after the end of fourth-quarter ended on 31st Dec 2011.

Air Liquide Signs Long Term Contract with South African Steel Firm

Industrial Gases major Air Liquide group is going to construct new Air Separation Unit (ASU) in South Africa. According to reports in media yesterday, Air Liquide signed a 20-year contract with JSE-listed steel and vanadium producer Evraz Highveld.

Surprisingly deal went off after the cancellation of JSE listed industrial gases & welding products supplier Afrox. Because of Afrox the Linde group company, steel firm had borne lots of production issues.

Praxair Sells Advanced Component Business to Japanese Firm

Global Industrial Gas Major Praxair INC has recently went under a deal with California-based FM industry. Company sold unit that has been in business of making equipment for producing microchips to one of Japan’s biggest technology manufacturers.

Sources say company struck deal in undisclosed amount in which entire business was executed between both the companies. But it appears as Praxair will soon issue $600 million that should be used to retire short-term debt for the group & general purposes. Continue reading

Praxair America Awards Distribution Contract to Navteq Collaboration

North American Industrial Gas major, Praxair awarded fleet transportation & distribution contract to Navteq. Navteq won the contract in collaboration with Planifi-K is already providing services for Fleet Transportation & distribution in the region.

Planifi-K is an Argentina-based consulting firm specializing in logistical planning and an official strategic partner of Roadnet Technologies (ex- UPS Logistics Technologies). Praxair is going to use Navteq map data of Argentina and Roadnet Technologies software to optimize their fleet transportation and distribution services. Continue reading

Air Liquide US Acquires ASU from Georgia Gulf in Plaquemine

Moving ahead with another acquisition, Air Liquide Large Industries US announced new purchase of Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Plaquemine, La from Georgia Gulf Corporation. Air Liquide operates US market from 200 locations & has a wide range of products from Industrial Gases to Electronics segment.

New purchased ASU produces Oxygen, Nitrogen & Argon & is being linked with Air Liquide existing gas production network in Plaquemine. As both are located closed to each other therefore Air Liquide will easily able to join an existing system of 13 Air Liquide Air Separation Units & Utility facilities among customers along the Mississippi river front.
