Praxair Hikes Pricing by Jan 2012

By the end of this year, Praxair and its subsidiaries (Praxair Distribution, Praxair Healthcare Services, Praxair Electronics, Praxair Canada Inc., and Praxair Puerto Rico N.V.) are increasing pricing in bulk and packaged industrial, electronics, specialty, and medical gas customers in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

This increase in prices would be effective from January 1, 2012.

According to Praxair, Pricing increasing pattern is somewhat like this…

  • About 15% hike for nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and helium;
  • About 15% for facility fees or monthly bulk product charges and cylinder rental rates;
  • Up to 10% on equipment and consumables.

As per company’ official press release, pricing will vary in certain ranges under individual contractual agreement. Sudden hikes are in response to the continued boom of manufacturing, distribution, & raw material sourcing costs and expenses. It goes along with unrelenting supply & demand imbalances in the United States and Canada.
